University of Leicester Visit
14 of our Year 12 students visited the University of Leicester this week and enjoyed a thoroughly engaging lecture, tour and lunch!
We learnt about student finance; courses that are on offer; enrichment opportunities and got to know a current 3rd year student about his personal experience.
It was a fantastic eye-opener and many of the students would choose it as one of their University choices!
Workshops and the Big Bus
Year 13 enjoyed a workshop delivered by De Montfort University on Student Finance and Preparation.
All students commented on how useful the information was and has helped them feel calmer about going to University this year.
Year 12 enjoyed a visit from Staffordshire University Big University Bus. Students toured both decks of the double decker bus, finding out about different Universities and testing out the gaming room!
Year 7 Taster Session
This week we invited 40 Year 7 students from both Moreton and Aldersley School to come and experience a lesson in Sixth Form!
Students were given a whistle stop tour of what the Amethyst 6th can offer and then took part in an ‘Apprentice Challenge’.
Students were tasked with working collaboratively on designing, financing and marketing a pop-up stall for an Amethyst 6th Open day.
We were blown away with the communication and imagination of all students!
